At be you counselling you are offered professional support during those times of difficulty. Are you feeling stressed, anger, guilt, anxiety, depression or experience panic attacks? Do you feel numb or like you have switched off? You may not understand why you feel the way you do. Through counselling you will be listened to closely in order to pick up on your feelings, thoughts and emotions to see the world from your perspective. You will be offered insights that will help us both explore the things you want to understand or change in your life at a pace which is comfortable for you.
Counselling can be a first step to re-gaining a sense of control in your life and a more positive future. It can also build better self-awareness, confidence and a better understanding of yourself.
Please take a look at the 'benefits of counselling' section for more information on how counselling can help you and the 'testimonials' sections as this can give you some insight into the therapeutic process from those I have supported and kindly left feedback.

Benefits of Counselling
Counselling can help you gain new ways of thinking about your problems by letting them out. It can also feel like a relief to release pent up feeling and emotions. Such a release can often feel like a weight has been lifted and allows you to let go of feelings you may have been holding on to.
In todays busy life our attention can be pulled in many different directions leaving very little time to process feelings such as guilt, remorse or grief. Counselling gives you a dedicated time and place without distractions that is purely for you.
It is not uncommon for people to struggle to share their feelings and issues with the people in their life, even those closest to them. Being able to talk to someone who is unknown to you who won’t judge can give you a freedom to talk about things you may find hard to speak about in day to day life. This can help with feelings of loneliness or isolation, especially if there’s been something you have found hard to discuss with others.
Unloading your emotions through counselling helps you to get on with the other areas in your life, making coping feel easier. Emotions that are bottled up can have a lasting effect on mood and behaviour. Knowing you can rely on someone to talk to about anything gives you more space to focus on living life and making positive changes which leads to a lift in mood and a healthier life.
Counselling can also help you to have a greater self awareness, exploring your emotions can allow you to see yourself in a different way which in turn tends to be extremely beneficial for confidence.
People who have completed the counselling process have often said that it has helped them to feel calmer, less stressed, less anxious, have improved communication, understand their own needs better and make positive changes in their lives.
Helping you talk about what matters
Welcome to be you counselling. My name is Samantha and I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist working in my private practice at Deeping St Nicholas. I offer in person or online sessions to suit your needs best. I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore and process your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. The option of working online means if you are not local or you simply prefer having sessions from the comfort of your own home, you can still access professional therapy with me.
I am registered with the NCS (National Counselling Society) and I abide by their ethical framework for good practice, standards and procedures to insure I work in your best interest.
I work using an integrative approach. This means I draw on a range of theories and work with you as an individual using different approaches that are tailored to your needs. We will explore your strengths with the belief that deep down you know yourself best, even if sometimes it doesn’t feel that way. This helps to empower you with making your own choices not just in the here and now but also in your future.
